Frequently Asked Questions

How do I use these herbal products?

Directions for each product should be listed on the product label and/or in the product description on our website. Tinctures are usually taken under the tongue, held for 20-30 seconds and then swallowed. This gets the constituents of the herb into the bloodstream quicker. Please note that some people feel a burning sensation under the tongue that can be uncomfortable. If this is the case, do not take your tinctures direct and place your the dosage into a small amount of water or juice and then hold in the mouth and swallow. We advise that children take tinctures in water or juice. If you have specific questions or need more detail, please contact us any time. 

Salves can be used as needed and the amount used is dependent on the size area its applied to. Usually a thin layer that absorbs within 10 minutes is recommended. If you have skin sensitivities, we recommend you do a small patch test and wait 24 hours to see if you have any adverse reaction, as every person reacts to herbs differently. 

 

How long does my tincture, powder or salve last and how are they best stored?

Each product's longevity depends on how it was stored and used:

Tinctures: keeping them stored in darker, cool areas of your home is ideal and they will last anywhere from two years to 10 years, depending on the product. 100% alcohol-based products last the longest. We recommend our throat spray be stored in the fridge if it's not going to be used for many months, but it is not necessary, it will only extend the shelf life. Do not freeze these items. 

Salves: If kept in cool, darker places in your home, they should last at least a year and a half but this is dependent on bacteria from your fingers when applying the salve and ambient temperatures. Salves will last 2-3 years if stored in the fridge. They will smell rancid and change texture if they have expired. 

Powders: they will usually last two years if kept cooler and dry and do best longer term in the fridge (three years) but refrigeration is not necessary for any of our products - it simply helps them last longer. If you have any questions, please contact us with your "batch" number and we can give you a general idea of when your powder will expire. 

If a product has expired, you will smell it - the "nose, knows." If that is the case, please discard it. 

 

Do you have a health disclosure and why do you have, "These statements have not been evaluated by the Food and Drug Administration," and "This product is not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any disease," all over your website?

We have to be careful to not make any claims of the ability of our products to be able to heal various conditions because the government says we can't. 

Any statements about the potential benefits of our products are solely our opinions which are based on our own research, the research of others, personal product testing, and customer reviews and feedback. 

Every person can react to herbal products differently and the use of them is at your own risk. We always advise that you start slow and work your way up to full dosages. If you take medications, are very sensitive to many foods or products or have health concerns, please consult your trusted medical professional for advice with incorporating herbal products into your healthcare routine. Keep in mind most western doctors will be unfamiliar with herbal products. 

If you are taking medications, are pregnant or breastfeeding, we are happy to do our best in warning of any potential affects if asked but we are not doctors and our research and opinions do not replace the advice of medical professionals. There are too many medications out there to list all potential reactions with our products so it is up to the consumer of the product to do their own due diligence. Most of our products will say if they are not safe for pregnant women. If you know of an ingredient in one of our products that you cannot have but the rest of the product is allowable, contact us and we may be able to formulate something better for you. 

 

 Are your products safe for children?

Yes, children over the age of three can use our products. Salves can be used at any age. Like with adults, every person reacts differently to herbs so it is advised that you start with one drop to test for adverse reactions and then work your way up to a child's dose according to weight. For example, if an average adult weighs 150 lbs and the full dosage is 45 drops, a child that weighs 50 lbs would have an eventual full dosage of 15 drops. You know your child best and if you are familiar with herbal products, this may look differently for you. 

 

Where are your products made?

We make all our products here in the great state of Texas with high-quality, organic ingredients. We have operated certified and inspected food-based businesses before and take careful precautions for safety and cleanliness when making our products. 

 

Are all your tinctures alcohol based?

As of right now, yes. If you need a specific blend without alcohol, contact us and we may be able to make that for you. We do not recommend our tinctures for those with addictions or strong sensitivities to alcohol. 

 

Do you have an affiliate program?

Yes, we just haven't advertised it yet. Please contact us if you are interested in becoming a part of our team. 

 

How do you pronounce "salve?"

People say, "saaav" and "saLve." They are actually both correct and the pronunciation is based on preference. I say "saLve" because it sounds like "salvation" and makes me closer to Jesus than those that say, "saaav." ;)

 

Why is there a rifle in your logo?

My online presence began almost a decade ago with a focus on defending the 2nd Amendment and advocating for responsible and fun gun ownership. I still support our inalienable right to defend ourselves and enjoy shooting for sport.

  

Returns & Refunds

We accept returns when the items shipped arrived damaged or were wrong due to our mistake. Please contact us (within 48 hours of receipt) if this is the case and we will do our best to remedy the situation promptly.

We will accept exchanges and returns of unworn T-shirts for sizing issues but will charge for return shipping. 

Due to the nature of our herbal products, we cannot accept returns on these items unless we made a mistake. Exchanges of unopened products are possible in certain situations.

Shipping 

Please double check your order address because we cannot be responsible for incorrectly entered addresses once orders are shipped. 

A tracking number will be e-mailed to you once your order has shipped, with the exception of small sticker orders, as they are shipped in regular stamped envelopes. 

We ship Monday through Friday. 

Most of the time, orders are shipped through USPS Ground Shipping, which can take anywhere from two to five days. 

Rush orders are taken by a case by case basis. Please contact us ASAP so we can see what’s possible. Extra shipping charges may apply and will be charged separately.

Order Damaged In Transit

If the outside package is damaged, please take pictures of the damaged package and do not open it yet. Please contact us ASAP so we can figure out what happened with our shipping providers.

If the contents of the package were damaged inside, please contact us ASAP.

 

International & outside the continental U.S. - Ordering

Due to some ingredients in our herbal products, we cannot ship internationally. For other, non-herbal items like T-shirts or stickers, please contact us for shipping times and rates before purchasing through our website. We currently ship to some countries outside the United States.  Extra shipping charges will apply and usually run about $19-$25 for T-shirts and less than $5 for stickers. 

 

Payment Options

Items purchased will show up on your credit card statement as "Not Quite Eden" through Shopify payment systems.

We accept all major credit cards.

If you would like to pay "off grid" please email us prior to purchase so an address can be provided to you. Items will be shipped after payments have been received and cleared. 

Sales tax will be collected from our customers that reside in Texas. Sorry :(

 

Privacy Policy

We value our right to privacy and your's too! Emails collected through orders and for our newsletter will never be shared outside Not Quite Eden.
